The current TTMM collection for the new Pebble smartwatch and the original Pebble devices is TTMM is Core — TIC-VOL 1, available now at ttmm.is/pebble. A dedicated TTMM collection for Pebble Time 2 and Pebble Round 2 is in development under Eric Migicovsky’s revived Pebble platform.

The archive below documents the original TTMM for Pebble collection (2013–2017), closed when Fitbit acquired Pebble in late 2016.

About this archive

Between 2013 and 2017, the TTMM studio produced original watchface designs across three Pebble devices: the original black-and-white Pebble, the colour e-paper Pebble Time, and the circular Pebble Time Round. It was the longest continuous body of work for any single smartwatch platform in TTMM’s history.

When Fitbit acquired Pebble in December 2016 and announced the platform’s shutdown, the TTMM team made the decision to stop production and support for TTMM products on Pebble devices. The distribution company TIMESAPP was closed. The TTMM for Pebble apps were removed from Google Play and the App Store.

This page exists as a historical record of one chapter in TTMM’s longer practice. The work documented here is closed; the practice continues at TIC-VOL 1.

TTMM as a practice

TTMM is not a watch company. It is a design studio that, for over a decade, has worked on a single problem — how digital time should look on the wrist. The Pebble collection documented here is one chapter of that practice. The work began in 2013 and is currently active on the new Pebble platform; the studio has, in parallel, designed for Fitbit, CMF, Android Wear and other platforms.

The TTMM practice operates on a principle the founder, Albert Salamon, calls Responsible Freedom — designing only what the studio itself considers good, with no external client to please, and bearing the cost of that quality judgement in both directions. The work in this archive is the first sustained test of that model.
