TTMM for Pebble — Archive (2013–2016)
“These designs don’t pretend to anything, they don’t simulate anything. They simply are themselves.”
— Albert Salamon
The foundation
TTMM for Pebble was the studio’s first major body of work — original watchface designs produced between 2013 and 2016 for the original Pebble smartwatch, the Pebble Steel, and later the Pebble 2 and Pebble 2 SE. It is the collection from which everything else in the TTMM catalogue descended. The visual grammar that later moved to colour displays, round screens, Fitbit, CMF, and the new Pebble 2 Duo all began here, on a 144×168-pixel monochrome screen.
The first design, Dominus, shipped in mid-2013 — three months after Pebble’s Kickstarter campaign — and was reviewed by WIRED the same month. The catalogue grew steadily through 2014, 2015 and 2016, ending at 143 designs when the Pebble platform was shut down.

A note on craft
The small binary footprint of the TTMM apps on the original Pebble — critical, on a device with only 20 KB of RAM available to a single watchface — was the work of Grégoire Sage, the studio’s principal programmer. His method was to ship custom fonts containing only the glyphs each design actually needed — sometimes as few as ten characters. A discipline that small allowed designs that visually large.
Books
An ebook documenting 100 TTMM black-and-white watchfaces for the original Pebble, published 2021 by Albert Salamon. Full-page artwork with brief design notes for each face — a digital record of the original Pebble era. Available on Apple Books, Google Play Books, and Amazon Kindle.
What came next
The original Pebble collection laid the groundwork for the colour TTMM for Pebble Time and the circular TTMM for Pebble Time Round. After Pebble’s 2016 shutdown, TTMM moved to Fitbit Ionic, then Fitbit Versa, and returned to Pebble in 2025 with TIC-VOL 1 — the current TTMM collection for the revived Pebble 2 Duo.
